Special characters and NetExplorer


For the sake of standardization, between operating systems, we adopted rules based on Windows rules.

Here are a few rules to follow :

➔  In file names, banish :

  • characters  \ / : * ? " < > |
  • spaces and tabulations in the end of file name or at beginning.

➔ Out of these specific cases, NetExplorer accepts  all of the other specific characters of the following languages :

French

English

Chinese

Russian

Spanish

Arabic.



Notes


  • If you have a lot of files containing unaccepted characters, you should know that there are some converters available on the internet.
    Better File Rename is one of them, it is easy to use, and available for MAC et Windows.
