Manage automatic deletion from trashes

Manage automatic deletion from trashes

As an administrator you can manage automatic deletion from trashes, and so trashes can be emptied regularly and you get free space available.

Deal with trashes options

  • Go to your NetExplorer platform then go to Configuration.
  • In  the FEATURES tab, spot and click on Configure for "Trash and automated deletion"
  •
  • Her you can manage the following elements :
    • Enable trash (disabling is strongly unadvised)
    • Disallow permanent dfeletion for users (avoid hasty deletions)
    • Trash retention time (limited by offer)
    • Automated deletion to recycle bin (relative to folder set with automated deletion)
    • Delete empty folders (relative to folder set with automated deletion)

Conservation time in trashes

Default is 30 days before elements are deleted permanently.

Automatic deletion will delete permanently files and folders that are in the trash for longer than retention time.

e.g. a file that is in the trash for 30 days will be deleted the next day

From that date, we add 30 more days during which we can restore your date from our backups.

Therefore you get the benefit of 30 more days.

! BEWARE ! If you choose to delete a file manually from the trash, it will not be kept in our backups
